Pity Final Smashes?

Are these still in the game, and can you trigger whether they're on or off? How exactly do they work?

It's still in the game. It has a better chance comming on time mode though. When you get K.O'd too many times in a few seconds or so than a Pity Smash comes when your next revival comes. Also you can turn it on and off.

So, basically impossible to obtain in standard competitive matches? Man, I was hoping some tournaments could utilize these.

If you died enough times in a row to get one in a tourney, you'd be so far behind a final smash wouldn't do you diddly-squat. :|
