Pit up air sending people away instead of up?

Hey guys. whenever I see pro pit players i notice they can up air -> up air -> up air -> etc

but whenever I up air it sends them away instead of straight up and makes it impossible for me to follow up on it.

any tips?

Could be Di, could be the part of the uair you're hitting with.

You're probably hitting the sweet spot of the uair. The sour spot sends them up instead of left or right. To get the sour spot, you have to hit them either in the latter hitboxes of the move or hit them with the blades instead of Pit's arms.

actually u need to hit it later, with the weak hitbox. so try to upair first close to them and then move into them. The first hitbox actually doesnt send them straight up and would be too strong to combo after some percent

5-1 gets the sour-spot of U-Air by fast-falling, seems to work for me too.
