Either i'm missing something entirely or there aren't any actual aerial spikes in there. There could be some footstools but i'm not really sure...

"Arial" is a font...

First off, when you WoI near Diddy's recovery, I believe it will cause him to fastfall, making it harder for him to recover, NOT a spike and also its a cpu so yeah.

The only spike Pit has is dtilt on the ledge and that's it.

i know, i called it spike because of the fact that i want views^^

but at the second one, he really gets pushed down pretty far and fast, also no human opponent is prepared to get pushed down when pit is in the air

Oh so you're just talking about the push effect from the WoI. Yeah...not really a spike as much as a trick.

I'm still kind of new to the technical terms so would this be classified as a gimp or not?

you got a vid of someone managing that? It could really come in handy if you can get good enough to pull it off.
i have seen that in a video, but i forgot in which one, if i find it again, i'll tell it to you

But, is the WoI-"spike" new discoverd?

Well, since it isn't a spike no.

And I actually think it was previously known that the WoI knocked people into fast fall. The others can correct me if i'm wrong though.

like i said, i think it has already been discovered by someone but i don't have time to go looking. And if you want critique go the the critique thread :D. Not sure i'm qualified to critique anyone just yet seeing as how i only started actively maining pit about a week ago.

These aren't spikes at all. The first time diddy did his Side-B completely at the wrong time, and you pushed him a little further to the left with WoI. The second time, you footstooled Diddy into a WoI. This happens once in a while, especially with people using tap jump. It's the footstool that pushes your opponent down in a temporary helpless state (not fastfall), not WoI.

And no one can actually reliably land the usmash spike.

WoI has a wind push effect, it will push the person in what ever direction that they are in, it could be left, right, down, up or at any angle. This not a spike, it is a gimp at best, wind push is nothing new.
