A lot of you who played in Pinnacle 1 could not in 2 because you had signed up for other tournaments. The event will be weekly on Saturday from now on, at 2:30 PM ET unless otherwise noted. At the conclusion of an event, sign ups for the next one will go up. Unless otherwise noted, bracket/signup urls will be challonge.com/pinnacle_#
3 stock, 8 minute, 2/3 except for semis and finals which are 3/5, no customs whatsoever
Starters: FD, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island. Counterpick: Prism Tower. Striking is 1-1-play, with 1 ban for counterpicking. First match is double blind, others are declared with loser of the previous match picking character second. Only original FD for first match, banning or striking FD gets rid of all FDs, but if not banned, counterpicker may choose the FD.
The event that a match disconnects, each player will start out with the stocks (and, if it can be remembered, the percents) that they had before.
Signing up: I am hosting a signup page on the challonge page. You need to sign up as your SmashBoards name + your friend code. Failure to include friend code will result in disqualification! Don't sign up until you're sure you can participate. In addition, we are testing a new idea: participants can now report their own scores! Don't abuse this feature or you will be DQ'd, banned from future events, reported on SmashBoards, and you will cause us to have to go back to the far less convenient method of reporting scores to me via a hectic irc.
#Pinnacle is an irc channel that I created for matchmaking and general chatting, but please try to keep it clean. Avoid crowding the chat with messages while opponents are communicating about tournament matches. Also, don't forget to take advantage of "query", a mode within irc where you can talk to a single other person, instead of trying to talk at the same time as everybody else on the main chat. You can find it by clicking on someone on the right sidebar.
Notice! So that I can make sure you are participating, please check in on the bracket between 1:30 and 2:30, and be on the irc by 2:30 so we can get it started on time!
