depends on you're situation, i would use blue if my bthrow wasn't decayed, but purple if i had an undecayed smash ready. like i said, it all depends on the situation

If I had to play with only one color: Blue. My playstyle tends to be a bit grab-happy and that BOOM sound that happens whenever you pull off a throw with one is very "wtf" inducing.

purple for smashing
red for...charizard? or spiking i guess?
yellow for the electrical sound they make
