Which Pikmin are most likely on which terrain?

I haven't seen any information on this posted yet, but I would certainly like to. Those with the game, experiment on this!

TheSlyMoogle commented about this in his recent posts, though I do agree, people should experiment more.

I have experimented. and i noted in "pikmin observations" that any difference in pikmin plucking was not different enough to warrant worrying about during a game. You'll still get a good deal of red,blue,yellow pikmin while whites and purples will be slightly rarer.
