always trying to DI away and you end up getting thundered out of it?

well here's the solution

DI down.

this will give you consistently decent DI, no matter which way pikachu's dsmash sends you. pikachu can NOT follow up if you DI down.

this WILL cause you to ASDI down too so you won't be escaping the move early, but it's worth it so you don't get KO'd at 80% off the top.

hope this helps,

Cosmo

I dunno, but it seems to make sense to me. If I understand, when you DI down, this prevents the knockback trajectory of the D-smash from sending you Up, and forces you more horizontally, mirite?

yeah. DI down works cause the last hit sends you up+slightly left, or up+slightly right. the downwards DI adds more left/right to the angle, enough to stop pika from following up with downB.

Oh, I see. It makes more sense to me now. But the point of DI down is to prevent from being hit by Thunder or another D-smash, right?
