Pikachu's Agility trick

I've seen when people use Pika's Up+B and go diagonal then horizontal, they come out of it with much more speed than I've been able to do. What is the trick to doing this?

if your not holding any buttons when the animation ends you won't stop in mid air

so, what your saying is that you go further if you don't have anything held down when the animation ends?

actually, I just tried it, it doesn't matter if you're holding down the B button after you press Up+B
it does matter if you hold the direction you're going though, if you're holding it, it wont give you the momentum drift

Yah, it doesn't matter about the B button.

You just need to stop holding the direction at this point:
