Phantasm Shorting

I'm trying to get advanced with Falco. I've got the Lasers and CGs down, but I need some help with Phantasm Shorting. How exactly do you do it, like what buttons do you press?

I'm having trouble with it too. What I've read is to press it at the time you'd hear the noise that starts the phantasm, but I could be wrong.

What Button? B, or is it another one?

Yes, you press the B button with the correct timing and you can shorten it at three different points.

It's really hard to get the timing right though, there are so few frames where this can be done from though.

 

[B-Mon]

I would suggest pressing B as soon as you spot the small sparkle near Falco's face when you activate the move.

It works for me when i mash it that way about 1/2 of the time.
