Sooooo.... I'm sure this isnt the best place to ask about this, but are there any teams or programs which help amateur Smash players practice, grow, and develop reputations or simply become more of a part of the eSports community? And Mods, before you lock the thread, I've asked the same question in the Social Thread 4.0 to no avail. Just looking for some kind of information to help me start getting acquainted with eSports. Seems teams like VG Bootcamp and the like are mainly for pro players. If it helps at all, I live in Florida. Thanks in advance!~

I'd be interested in something like this myself, but I don't think there's anything formal. Really, just play tons of people. Sounds like the online on SSB4 is decent atleast, but going to tournaments and playing people, not necessarily entering, is probably the best way about it.

I'm not sure what is meant here by "teams". Are you looking for online or offline meetups of people to smash with? Smashfests are held all over the world :)

I was hoping for an offline meetup rather than an online one, but an online one would work just as well. Just hoping to become part of some kind of Smash team where I could get coached, and be supported to enter tournaments. I doubt I could ever reach the level of Apex or EVO without help along the way. I obviously wont be going to either any year soon considering my skill level, which is why I'm kind of looking for the coaching.

Cool... so look up smashfests in your area! What region are you in? Have you looked around the Region Zones forum threads?

Smash really isn't a "pros only" kind of game. At all. This whole scene is made up of people that simply love the game, at all levels of skill at it. Anyone can show up to a tourney, even the huge ones like Apex and have a great time. But the majority of tournaments are small local things, and most smashfests aren't tournaments. They're just where you go and hang out with people and get better at smash!

I know in Alberta, we have the Super Smash Bros. University that meets up offline every Friday. If you could provide more information on your region, we could help you out more.
