In the days of old, during the great imbalance of 3.02, a challenge was issued to all students in the land to fight a battle of grand importance, one of honor for their home, their school. Many answered the call, and the factions known as the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Dallas, and the University of Oklahoma all gathered to vie for the title and honor of being crowned greatest school in the land. Alas, at the end of the day and at the end of 3.02, only OU was left standing, having defeated both of its great rivals in battle.

But that was in the past, and we are not content to settle for past glory. With the new era of 3.5 ushering in a new age of balance and matchups, the University of Oklahoma must defend its title, and in doing so, host a competition even greater than the first. Introducing...

Intercollegiate Project M & Melee Tournament


Date: 4-24-15 through 4-25-15
Location: University of Oklahoma Main Campus, Physical Sciences Center
Games: Melee and Project M


Choose Your Character is the first Southwestern regional to boast both a bracket specifically for college students as well as a completely open bracket for those seeking the $100 pot bonus per game.

This is the first regional tournament run by the Sooner Smash Brothers organization at OU. It will be held on the University of Oklahoma main campus, in the Physical Sciences Center room 201 (This is the first room on the left when entering from the main second floor entrance.)

There will be a $10 venue fee with a $5 discount for bringing a full set up. Each singles event will have a $10 entry fee and doubles will be $20 per team. This tournament will run 6 events:

Friday April 24th:
Melee Doubles
Project M Doubles
(A player may only enter doubles for 1 of the 2 games because the brackets will run simultaneously)
If brackets do not finish Friday, they will be finished Saturday morning.

Saturday April 25th:
Melee Singles Open w/ $100 Pot Bonus
Melee Singles Collegiate Singles
Project M Singles Open w/ $100 Pot Bonus
Project M Collegiate Singles
Collegiate Crew Battles (OU, UNT, UTD) if time allows

Bracket format:
Singles for each game is separated into two brackets, Open and Collegiate. Anyone may enter the Open brackets, whereas the Collegiate brackets are restricted to current college students with a valid student ID who are not ranked top 10 in their region's current PR.

Each participant may only enter one Singles bracket for each game.

Each Open bracket will have a pot bonus of at least $100.
