Original Special Moves

Super Smash Bros has many characters. Some of these characters have moves that don't appear canon to the series like Captain Falcon's Special Move "Falcon Punch."

Why not create some for some other characters?

I'll just show a list I came up with:

- Tom Nook: Broom Sandstorm: Creates a large dust around the stage that makes only Tom Nook invisible.

- Mach Rider: Mach Punch: Work's like Captain Falcon's, only it meteor smashes at guaranteed, has shorter range, but is start up is much faster. A motorcycle shaped smoke appears when Mach Rider uses it.

- Bandana Dee: Spear Bonanza: Creates a set of spears that shoot up in a hillside fashion, the amount of spears and range depends on how long you charge it. Can be used only on the ground.

Well technically, these are kinds of moves you normally wouldn't think about.
I wouldn't have thought of Falcon Punch for Captain Falcon, so this is basically the overall discussion about it.

But those moves are totally expectable of those characters.
Now something I would never see coming is Mario shooting lazer beams from his eyes.

Captain Falcon really hasn't stepped outside his car before 64 Smash so it must have been extremely hard creating special moves for him. Is he going to throw the Blue Falcon at people? They did a good job creating original moves for him, and the success of the Falcon Punch is incredible.

Yeah give the characters some flair from their respective games, but when it comes to thinking of effective moves to create for characters who are out of their element in a fighting game, making moves specifically for Smash isn't bad.
Captain Falcon and Ice Climbers are harder to make game-specific moves for seeing as how they don't really offer much in their games. Whereas Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, Kirby, etc. have a lot more to work with due to the popularity of their games and the style of play.
Sonic has moves catered to his solo games, but so much that 3 of them are him spinning in a ball (which was expected) but I wouldn't have minded a Smash Bros specific move to replace either his side-b or down-b because they are basically the same move
