Original Brawl stages in Project M

Hey all, I just got wind of Project M when 3.0 was released, and I really like it. I've noticed that as it is more of a competitive tournament mod, a lot of stages were heavily modified (ie. WarioWare, Pokemon Stadium) to be more neutral. I was wondering how I would go about using the vanilla brawl stages instead of the Project M stages while keeping the rest of the Project M content (characters, engine, etc.) I've tried deleting all the files in /stage/melee hoping it would just default to brawl stages but that just froze my Wii on the Project M screen. Then I tried editing common5.pac and just deleted sc_selmap and that kind of worked. Some stages work, some don't. How would I go about this?

Thanks!

You need to delete the rel files for the stages in the module folder. Only delete the st_() files and leave the rest as they are needed for the game to work.
The sc_selemap contains the replaced stage previews, but since you deleted it the previews should've reverted to default.

Hope you enjoy project M!

"projectm/pf/module" try deleting the .rel files for the stages you want to remove, in addition to the stage files, if they exist. Pisssssss

Do you want all of them to be default or just some? Here is a small guide I made from someone's quote that tells me where stage icons go and such:

Use this to navigate through stage icons

credit goes to whomever I got this from in the customized content thread.

Hmm, so I got all the vanilla brawl stages that were edited back to normal, but I was playing around a bit more and trying to replace some of the stages that were included with project m. For example, Hyrule Temple replaces Bridge of Eldin, but I want Eldin to be selectable, so I deleted the .rel and .pac files and Eldin worked fine. Now, if I want to play Hyrule I figured I'd have to overwrite another stage, so I chose 75m. In project M, 75m became Kongo Jungle, which I don't really care about.

So, I decided to replace the replacement of 75m (kongo) with Hyrule. I just took STGOLDIN.pac file that came with project M (which would be hyrule temple, as it replaced bridge before I deleted it) and renamed it to STGDONKEY.pac and threw it in the /melee/ folder, as I had already deleted the one that came with project M when I reverted the stages. I then did the same with the .rel, renaming st_oldin.rel to st_donkey.rel. I figured that this would just drop them over the now reverted 75m and it would go to Hyrule rather than Kongo. Instead, it locked up the Wii after selecting the stage.

Either I'm doing something wrong or missing step(s). Thanks again.

That stage was specifically made to go over Bridge of Eldin. You cannot use it on any other stage.

You need to create another rel file, renaming it isn't enough. Luckily there's a useful tool that automates the process for you here.

First select the base of your stage (in this case bridge of eldin) and then select which stage you would like to replace (75m). Place the downloaded rel into the module folder and there shouldn't be anymore freezes.

Worked beautifully. One last question, I promise! Castle Siege doesn't seem to go through the 2nd stage. From what I understand the 2nd stage is disabled in the codeset. This is what's located in /projectm/codes/ correct? Do y'all know which part codes for it to skip the 2nd stage?

I tried deleting those st_*.rel files, it didn't seem to make a difference. Anything else I need to delete/edit to get the stages back?
