I find this to be a major issue in my games. As soon as I kill my opponent during a tight battle in which we both got to kill percentage, he just revenge-kills me during invincibility frames. When I stay onstage Ivy feels far too slow to maneuver around his foe. On the other hand, when I decide to go to the ledge my opponent gets free stage control and I have a hard time getting back on, mostly resulting in me getting killed.
Any thoughts?

Thats just the flaws of Ivysaur. My best advice would be to hone your maneuverability skills so that you dont get hit. You have 5 seconds before the invincibility wears off, use that knowledge to your advantage.

O damn, whoops... must have referenced that from something else, thanks. Gotta check M2k's info dump on what is actually 300 frames of invincibility then... because I know its something.

Propably Metaknight's neutral B in Brawl

But yeah 5 secs invincibility after respawn would be rather broken

In response to your OP:

I like to hop offstage and take advantage of Ivy's great air mobility and options (such as dair stalling, insta-tethering, tether stalling, blah) to wait out the invincibility and bait them to follow you. Ivy's offstage game against most of the cast is pretty awesome. Also, if they flub into something with a lot of end lag, you can still sweet spot dairs and up-airs while they're invincible to get more charge...a little less safe, but a good opportunity might present itself more often than you'd expect.
