I am in the process of optimizing our new server so that we can handle large spikes in traffic. I will highlight a few of the changes:

• Who's online invisible to guests (only shows when you are logged in)
• Who's online in forum rooms disabled (will be restored if it doesn't improve server performance much)
• mySQL server upgraded to 4.1.22
• PHP upgraded to 5.2.3
• PHP cache system installed
• Search disabled for guests - you must now login to search!
• Avatars are now stored in a file system instead of on the database.
  NOTE: this may have resulted in some people losing their custom avatar. Use the following thread to report custom avatar problems:

A big PHP problem was resolved earlier today that was preventing people from doing many functions (users reported getting a blank white page when logging in, etc). If you are still having this problem please report it immediately.
