Ok, so I'm trying to get back into my Computer Animation class, and I'm gonna need help getting started.

First of all, my university has taught primarily Java-related courses, and now my courses are all "well, you need to learn C/C++" and evidently this one is no exception. I've done a bit of reading and I'm only somewhat familiar with C (if I pull a tutorial up and start working I can stumble my way through it).

With that said, could someone give me an "idiot's guide for setting up to program in OpenGL"? I've read the official site and I kinda understand that I'm gonna need certain .h and .lib files, but I'm not exactly sure where to go from there. I guess my failure to understand is caused by my thinking in terms of Java, which I seem to understand from class is NOT ideal for this type of programming. So... I guess I'm looking at a two-fold problem:

1. Setting up C/C++ on my laptop (I've been using my school's Unix server for my C programming this entire time).

And

2. Setting up OpenGL.

The only help I need for now is in setting it up. My prof AND the TA both made Powerpoints covering some basics in the actual programming AND they both had links to tutorials. I think that's plenty of resources in that department.

EDIT: For any still following, I just downloaded CodeBlocks. After all that hassle... I still don't think I have the files I need to start doing something. Ugh. Could anyone help, please? I'm completely new to this.
