Anyone have any news on what's going on with them? In the 50 facts they state they will be putting the tournament system into the game, but do we know when? Maybe the same patch as Miiverse stage? Or mew two patch?

They said that there won't be any more patches for character adjustments, so I believe that the tournament system will be with the same patch as the miiverse stage. Mewtwo will be a little longer. Or for all we know all three could be in the same patch, so all we can do is sadly wait...

Just a correction; they said there were no more plans to patch characters for balance, at least according to Sakurai. Patches for this is still entirely possible, but don't expect them anytime soon. The earliest I'd expect to see anything note worthy on that front is right after Mew2 is released.

I think it's safe to say online tournaments will happen before that, so I'd expect Miiverse. I guess we'll see.

Disappointed about not hearing about any of those 3 things mentioned in the direct. The waiting game continues I guess.

The Tournament mode patch will probably either hit with the Amiibo support patch (for N3DS), or with the Mewtwo patch.

Pushing patches costs money, I imagine they don't want to do it more often than they must. Consolidating content into fewer patches makes it more cost-effective.

Can't wait for online tournaments that are organized like this. Hopefully the amount of customization to a tournament is as good as it showed.

The main thing I'm worried about it that there may not be an option for Double Elimination or Swiss. But likely only Single Elimination which is just icky.

Yeah though, waiting game intensifies as we wait for all the other features to be released.

I was hearing a rumor that Nintendo will be supporting some of the online tournaments with e-cash to their marketplace. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I certainly haven't, but this would be a neat prize! Especially with the new Wii Games and such coming out for VC.

Will the Wii U be affected by the amiibo patch that hits the 3ds? The only reason would be that if you were using a ds as a controller then used the ds for your amiibo, but why would they do that when you could just use the gamepad? I think were probably looking at a huge patch that has mewtwo, miiverse stage, and the online tournament system. If this was their plan all along then you'd think it'd be in the direct thats announcing march-august releases.
