Online Smash

looked around the forums and couldnt find anything about playing online. this is just a quick question it can be deleted once answered. i was wondering how to play online, the steps of downloading the game, configuring it, setting up the network, etc.. ive done alot of console play but never online and was looking to get into the competitive online scene and im not really sure where to start. so if anyone can direct me to a tutorial or whatever that would be great. thanks

It is normally called the smash index, but some australian decided it was better to call it lots of inside jokes that newcomers who could actually have use of the thread wouldn't understand causing them to completely miss the most important thread for learning online play.
