Online help..

So I'm just now interested in the netplay thing you guys do, but I need help to guides/ links to get emulators and roms to play with others on the internetz. Is there by any chance someone can post some links of the emulators/ roms that I need to play you guys? thanks.

It is against the law to post links to or request ROMs. Use a search engine like Google to find them.

As for emulators, Project64 is a very good emulator for emulating Nintendo 64 games, Smash 64 included, while Dolphin is a widely used and supported emulator for Melee, Brawl, and Project M. It has support with the Nintendo GameCube controller using the GameCube Adaptor, though I'm not sure exactly how this works. As for Smash 4, there is no known way to emulate Wii U software, so you will have to buy the game and play it on a Wii U.

There are very good netplay guides available on Anther's Ladder. They cover all the games, and there's also a chatroom available if you're having issues with setting up.
