My brother broke his Wii U gamepad so we returned it back and brought a new Wii U. Now here I'm all excited to finally play Smash on the Wii U again now with Cloud as DLC but I came across a problem that was complete utter bull****. Apparently I wasn't aware of the fact you can't link an existing NNID to another Wii U which has all my download content. Now with the pain of unlocking everything again I have to make a new NNID and buy all my dlc again, especially with the fact that all my secondaries are doc(Roy,Ryu,Cloud). I'm honestly thankful that my brother old Wii u doesn't remember our credit card information and I have a Cloud Wii U dlc code that I haven't used yet but I still don't know if I can use it or not. I originally made my NNID on my 3DS

Is there any way I can fix this as I think this had just ended my Smash Career?

You are able to transfer your data from one Wii U onto another, which does include all of your Wii U eShop purchases. Be advised, however, that your original Wii U's data will be formatted after the transfer is complete, so it's impossible to have your game data be stored onto more than one Wii U system.

Anyway, when the transfer is complete, as long as you continue to use the NNID that was on your old Wii U system, you should be able to redownload all of your purchased software and DLC for free.

Does this require me to have my old system as I turned that system back to get a new one?

That's a very bad move. You should've transferred your data onto the new Wii U "before" selling your old Wii U system.

Besides, you should never sell a Wii U without formatting it anyway.

The gamepad was broken so we had to immediately return it to GameStop in exchange for a new one, and I wasn't present when my brother went to GameStop so this was truly a chain of tragic events.

Either way I'm ****ed then r.I.p
