Smash Cadet

Smash has always been big to me, and i'm starting to see that i've got the potential to be so good, and i'm finally tapping into it.
Yesterday was a little 2v2 tournament with some good players there, and it helped me see just how much improvement i've made recently. During the 2v2's, me and my partner (a decent metaknight), ran train in the first few matches, putting all of the scrubby teams down to losers.
Our first real match was Mic, a captain falcon and Ryder, a marth. They're both smart, and despite being a falcon, Mic is scary to play against. Seriously, he's the most patient player i've ever had the displeasure of playing. But i love him haha. So, that went well. First match, we got outplayed on battlefield, but we took them to halberd match 2 and it wasn't pretty. Third game was good and ended with me and Mitchel doing the dirty 2v1 against Ryder. Snakes bionic leg won game 3, seriously haha. We took it on smashville. 2-1.
Next was another questionable team, and we were really confused that they were as high in the winners bracket as they were. 2-0.
Next was our toughest match. Mitchel and ProXY vs. Ganja and Kamron. These guys made me pretty sad, but we kept up surprisingly well in the second match. First match, Ganja went Falco, which surprised me, because i didn't know he played anyone but marth, but, eh. We started with the worst opening stocks in history, barely giving them any percent, and everything kept getting worse from there, topping it off with me losing my last stock in a huge, nikita missile-related SD and Mitchel playing a smart 2v1, but still getting overwhelmed. 2-0. We got sent to the losers from winners finals. Saaaad day.
Next match was us versus Ed and Trump (Zelda and Fox). This was a sad day, because we only had one match, losers out. Let me clarify that this was the most stressful game of smash i've ever been involved in. The whole match was stupid even for a long time, until the very end, when Mitchel shuttle-looped me for my 2nd stock. Then those 2 started getting momentum, and we had nothing to stop it. It ended with me in a 2v1 against those 2, and i did pretty well, but not good enough. We got knocked out and placed 3rd.
I want to be mad about getting third, but i can't be, because it's showing my improvement. 3 weeks ago, i would have gotten like 17th. I'm finally getting out in the community and showing everyone that i'm a competitor. Heck, i won EVERY friendly i played the whole day, except for my one against Ed, where i blew myself up with a C4 like a pro, when he WASN'T EVEN ON THE STAGE. Sad day.
But coming up is the next 1v1 tourney, so i can get more time in before i go to a major event anywhere. And at this next one, my goal it to play Halzy. I've been on his team, but i've never PLAYED him. So, next time i guess, i'll see what i'm worth haha.
Until then though, moar guitar!
