I played SSBM in the past (04-06) as a serious player with Ice Climbers and Sheik as my mains. Needless to say I've lost a lot of my touch that I used to have and quite a bit of tech has been found that wasn't around or at least didn't have a name back then. I'm starting to get back into it again and looking to up my game. That being said looking for info that I haven't really found in the guides or on various posts. Hopefully yall can help me out.

1. Chain grabs: I've completely lost this and I really dont remember it being that hard in the past. What's the most reliable way to get these down? Is it DJCG (Dash jump cancel grabs) or WD grab? I seem to remember doing it with regular dash grabs on certain characters and mostly WD grab. My WD is pretty much on point but I'm still pretty inconsistent with JCG.

2. Sweet spots: If someone can point me to a guide on Sheiks sweet spots, specifically her aerials with the exception of her Dair and Fair that would really help.

3. SHFFL set ups: How important in general are these to her game nowadays? I'm really working on getting this back down as this is one of the more mechanically challenging aspects of melee. Are the more matchup dependent like against Peach and Falcos? What are some examples of these set ups.

4. Approaches (CC Dashes and from the air): Looking to see how other serious Sheik mains choose both their ground and air approaches and what the most consistent options/setups are for them. I know DCC (dash crouch canceling) in Dsmash is reliable, but what are some others. Been watching a lot of matches trying to get an idea of this. Also other general set ups for futher combos would be appreciated.

Any and all stuff yall can suggest will help me out. I'm pretty good on my WD and Lcancels. My SHFFL's and SH in general need to be polished up, as well as identifying more opportunities for needle spam. My edge game is pretty decent but that will come more with more matches against more and varied opponents. Thanks in advance.

1. Chain grabs might be harder because of the advent of DI that's happened since 06 or so which causes more mixups. Be more alert and be prepared to techchase when they DI away. I never use wavedash grab because JC grab always seems to work. Dash attack canceled grab is even an option sometimes. JC grab timing is just a touch faster than the wavedash timing.

2. Hit with the tip of the foot on the earliest frame for the largest knockback.

3. I'm not sure what you mean? I'll space out with tilts and aerials until a tilt or grab will lead into a fair that'll lead into an edgeguard or KO. The only thing that really changes with that is if Up air becomes a good KO move (vs. Peach, Puff, Doc, Luigi). Or if I get a grab I'll chain grab or techchase to high percents and do the same as before.

4. Approach? with Sheik? Don't do it. Pressure (not spam) with needles and bait out lag with your wavedashes. Sheik is 90% punish.

Watch Mew2King, Kirbykaze, Ice, and OverTriforce for more general ideas.
