Old & New Music

Should there be the classic versions of songs in addition to newer versions in SSB4?

I think everyone can agree that the orchestrated versions of the classic Nintendo music is refreshing and, well, awesome in Smash. But at the same time, wouldn't it be pretty legit if (Using a Brawl-like music choice system) we could choose the classic versions or the newer ones? I mean, there's a consensus that the original version of Stickerbrush Symphony is better than the Brawl version etc... I think that (provided that it doesn't take up too much space on the disc) that the classic version should be an alternate option on stages. What say you, Smashboards?

I don't know how to vote yet, but I will say that I loved Bramble Blast (that was officially the name of the remix right?) much more than the original piece of music, and in fact I can't think of any remix off the top of my head that I did not enjoy. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to classic pieces being included alongside any remixes, but I definitely prefer they attempt to make as many remixes as possible.

At least as far as classic tunes go. If we get recent music (say, Xenoblade) I'd much prefer those just get copied over.

I like Brawl's Stickerbush Symphony/ Bramble Blast better. There are more instruments and a nice sense of union that flow really well together. Im sure that Super Mario Galaxy's Gusty Garden Galaxy is going to get a remake/remix, because of Rosalina's trailer. And I think it will sound better than the original, because the Smash Bros series has really great songs within it.

Indifferent. I can live with most remixes, but I wouldn't say no to having old tracks as a bonus.

I was impressed with the number of arrangements made for Brawl, but it was also lame that they tried to artificially expand the soundtrack by importing a bunch of tracks directly from other games, too. I'd prefer that they stick to new arrangements and leave the imports out. (And in a way, with all the imported tracks, Brawl's massive OST is actually half the size it seems.)

And if I could be even pickier, I hope SSB4's soundtrack is more like Melee's, where a single orchestra played all the music for a more cohesive tone.

I love listening to newer remixes to old songs but I wouldn't mind having some classic songs in the game.

Why the hell would you want the game to have less music? I prefer having remixes AND original tracks as opposed to just having remixes, plus, there's some tracks that you just cannot touch, like Gusty Garden Galaxy, all remixes of GGG sound considerably worse than the original version, maybe the SM3DW version has to be the best remix, but it still doesn't live up to the original. And the fact that Melee's soundtrack was all orchestra made the soundtrack lack variety, I want to see Jazz, Rock, Metal, Techno, Dubstep, Orchestra, 8-Bit, Folk, etc.

The problem with the Original StickerBrush Symphony, is it really is not fighting music.........Otherwise I would say use DK Tropical Freeze's version. I would like if some original tunes in there though, as long as it actually fit.

Actually the Tropical Freeze version of that song can fit very well to fight with.
And i'm pretty sure we'll get more original music instead of remixes this time around.

I don't really care as long as the music is good. I do love smash remixes though, as the poll said it freshens things up a bit.

I hope all of brawls music returns, no point just throwing it away when it's still so good.

Just thought I'd post this here...

Guess it was a pretty good idea haha. Hopefully we see it extend to other stages and tracks.
