Other than what looked like tech flubs (standling laser on platform, accidental sidesmash near start) You look solid. Your ledgegame is nice, but you rarely seemed to go offstage for edgeguards. Your punish game also is fantastic. Only things that I can see that is "wrong" with your fox is you always seemed to techroll away. Nothing bad in that itself, but u should try mixups on what. The other thing is you just need to practice ledge sweetspots a bit on firefox.

I can timestamp this out later, but:

1. You nair at Falco CC percents. If you're going to aerial at low percent, drill.

2. You don't overshoot most of your nairs. A few of the nairs you hit were because of the Falco making similarly bad aerial choices.

3. Incorporate more grab setups into your game. Fox's best combo starter in this matchup is upthrow. Running shines, drill shine (both into jab reset if applicable), drill grab, etc.

4. Learn Falco's upB distance. You gave up two free edgehogs.

5. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish with a lot of these random jabs. Care to explain?

6. Learn the neutral spacing against Falco. The general idea is right outside the range of a lunging dair. You can hit Falco during laser start up with a slight read, and you can DD around an aerial. You can even FH aerial lasering Falcos in some cases, but this gets less and less effective as you use it more and as opponents get better. Falco has some spacing mixups he can do to counter this (**** you autocancel bair), but that's level 2 of this matchup so don't worry about it. In general stay grounded for as long as you can. Fox is best when he's running, so cut out a lot of these aerials you're doing.

Haha, yeah. i dont own melee anymore so i havent been practicing techskill in a long time. and now that you mention it i should go offstage for edgeguards more. thanks for telling me these things i dident notice that much, ill try to mixup my techs, and go for more/better edgeguards. c:

1. Whats falco's CC percents? i have no idea sorry lol.

4. yeah, i guess i was misjudging his distance.

5. idk now that you mention it. i guess i just panic and mash really. what would be better in some of the situations instead of jabs?

6. by staying grounded you mean by just "upthrowing. Running shines, drill shine (both into jab reset if applicable), drill grab,"? ìf so ill incorporate more of those into my gameplay for that MU

The whole jabs thing, you might be able to fill that space with lasers or uptilts. Also have you considered adding more shieldpressure into your gameplan? Shinegrabs and shdair into shine? those have been helping me out lately :) Anyways your fox is damn impressive considering you dont own melee. Do you play P:M or something?

1. Jim Morrison posted the percents in a thread. They're on the first page of the Fox boards.

5. I'm actually a huge fan of waiting and reacting. If they're in shield or one of your combo strings just ended, try a bit of dash dancing or position yourself to punish a panic hitbox should it some out. The jabs don't line up any additional punishes (or at least they shouldn't until very high percent against Falco), but if they make a mistake you can capitalize off of it.

Also no offense to 7upjawa, but uptilting in the situations you were jabbing isn't really a great idea. If you got a hit or just ended a combo, it's best not to force the issue lest you be counter-comboed. Uptilt is generally a follow-up or anti-air move anyway.

6. By staying grounded I mean not aerialing unless you have a purpose. You're a bit trigger happy with your aerials. I should reclarify that I don't think Fox should (or rather can) stay entirely ground-bound thanks to Falco's gun, but I do think offensive aerials should be used carefully in this matchup.

I meant in the spaces where he jabbed them instead of using another attack on the ground. Dont use em like your a falco main tho XD

1. Found it! Thanks.

6. alright, ill work on using aerials in important situations rather than throwing them out willy-nilly. Thanks
