Devoted third-party companies
Nintendo has close ties with or owns minimal stock in these companies and has them make games with their franchises:

Artoon — has made Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and is currently making Yoshi's Island 2.
Atlus — Ported Cubivore to the GameCube from the Nintendo 64, is the developer of the Nintendo exclusive Trauma Center series, and supported the Virtual Boy.
Bandai — Recently merged with Namco; Nintendo owns stock in both companies and rumors have stated that Nintendo may attempt a takeover bid for the company.
Capcom — Nintendo and Sega partially own a secondary developer to Capcom called Flagship; they helped to make the GBC and GBA Zelda games and the GBA Kirby games. Capcom are the makers of games such as Mega Man and Resident Evil.
Hudson Soft — Now belongs to Konami; its first collaborated game with Nintendo was Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman, which featured Bomberman, Hudson's flagship character. Hudson Soft also has collaborated with Nintendo to make the wildly popular Mario Party series, though their involvement with the Mario franchise has dated back to Super Mario Bros. Special, which was released around the same time as the Lost Levels.
Konami — Konami has made games based on Nintendo's franchises such as Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. Nintendo had also arranged a collaboration with Konami and Silicon Knights, then a Nintendo second party, in the creation of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for the GameCube. Solid Snake, from the Metal Gear franchise, will also make an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a special visiting character, and are developing the Wii exclusive Elebits.
Midway Games — For the arcades, Midway has helped Nintendo with Killer Instinct and the Cruis'n games.
Namco — Nintendo and Namco have collaborated on several games such as Pac-Man Vs. (by Miyamoto), Star Fox: Assault, Mario Superstar Baseball, and the Donkey Konga series; belongs to the Triforce arcade system.
NIBRIS - NIBRIS is an upstart European developer devoted only to the Wii and the Nintendo DS. Its upcoming titles include Sadness and Raid over the River.
Panasonic — Not a game company, it does however help Nintendo with technology and also made the Q multimedia console.
Rare — Although at one time under a 49% ownership with Nintendo, Rare is now owned by Microsoft. It is responsible for such titles as Donkey Kong Country/Land/64, GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Killer Instinct. The company has developed 5 titles for the Game Boy Advance while under Microsoft's roof. Rare will also be developing for the Nintendo DS. Rare's first DS project is an expansion/sequel to the well-known N64 game Diddy Kong Racing.
Sega — Nintendo's former rival in the console market. Sega made F-Zero GX/AX and also belongs to the Triforce arcade system. They're responsible for games like the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the Phantasy Star series, and the Super Monkey Ball series. They are supporting the Virtual Console (Wii) by having a "best of" selection of downloadable classics from the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
Square Enix — Nintendo has published Square/Square Enix's Final Fantasy games on the NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance, and GameCube. Games that appeared on the GBA and GCN could also be registered on Nintendo's website (through a My Nintendo account). Square Enix has also recently announced that it will release two games for the Wii: Dragon Quest Swords and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.
TOSE — Responsible for the Game & Watch Gallery series and the Legend of Stafy series.
Treasure Co. Ltd — Treasure was formed by ex-Konami workers who promised they would never produce sequels of their franchises (but made a sequel to Gunstar Heroes and Radiant Silvergun (Ikaruga)). The company worked with Nintendo to make Wario World and Mischief Makers, and has also produced many Japan-only games, including Sin and Punishment. It has very close ties with both Nintendo and Sega.
I guess it's safe to say that Nintendo and Atlus are in good ties with eachother

Anyway, Atlus is one of the creative forces that supported the Nintendo DS when some mocked it, and created one of gaming's best and most popular suprse hits, "Trauma Center". As shown above, Trauma Center first came on the DS, and is having a sequel on the Wii.

I thought "Hell, people have made serious threads about Pheonix Wright (another great DS game ;) ), a lawyer, I sure as heck can post my hopes for trauma Center's protgnist, Dr. Derek Stiles!"

MOVESET

B- Scalpel throw- Derek quickly throws three slightly weak scalpels as fast as Sheik's B needles, then throws one with force that deals above average damage.

Foward/Back B- Liston Knife- Like marth or Roy's Foward B's, it's a combo that you can build up by pressing B at the right time. Goes up to 6 hits. First three deal as much damage as the scalpel, last three are all above average

Up B- Surgical flip Derek flips in the air and throws scalpels down at an angle.

Down B - Laughing Gas- Derek pulls out a tank of laughng gass which "numbs" characters. Like Jiggz's up B, but cannot escape from it by pressing buttons.

SUPER SMASH ATTACK- HEALING TOUCH- Derek targets a single player and his hand begins to glow with a scalpel, and little star-markers appear over the opponents body. Derek then quickly slashes the star marks in order of apperance in a big damaging combo

ALTERNATE SUPER SMASH ATTACK- SURGERY- Derek targets a single player, pulls out a syringe, and pumps their heart full of morphine :demon: . derek oulls out a bunch of scalpels and rapidly slashes at the oponent. Derek finishes hitting them over the head with a crutch and breaks it.

Charcter Symbol- Hispitol Cross

Character Stage- Trauma Center

What happens when Kirby sucks up Dr. Stiles- Hair, glasses, headphones, and belt

eah, people want a DS representativ. If anyone, it should be Dr. Stiles or Pheonix Wright.

STILES AND WRIGHT FTW!!!!!

Good suggestion, but could you privide pictures, because I am not too familiar with the series. Also, looks like you have some good ideas for him.

Actually, with Photoshop, I made him different color costumes for Red, Blue, and Green. however, I cannot access Photobucket right now for some reason, probably a site update.

Heh, Dr. Stiles vs. Dr. Mario. Maybe we should throw in Dr.Faust from Guilty Gear, too.

Well, I could definatley see him in, but like's it's been said, there's a lot of competition for the last few 3rd party slots. So, I'd really like to see him in but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Unforunately, Hidden Tiger makes a good point. With the few third party spots open, there is alot of competition, and there may be better characters for the spots, but that dosen't mean he couldn't be good in the next Smash Brothers games.

Unfortunately, Atlus has pretty much no say whatsoever as to whether or not Dr. Stiles gets to be in. It's up to Sakurai and his team at Sora to decide whether or not they want him in Brawl, and then they'd need to ask Atlus if they could use him. Atlus can't 'put in stiles' of their own accord.

Because Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto are very good friends. It was more of a gesture of friendship than a beggars demand. Besides, Konami got to put Snake in because they're helping develop Brawl. And I'm pretty sure that Atlus doens't have an inside buddy like Kojima does with Miyamoto. I'm not ruling out the Doc, I'm just saying that it's not really up to Atlus. I mean, yeah it is, but only if Sakurai decides on him first.

Dr. Stiles could have an interesting movelist, and I can see him representing both the DS and innovation in gaming in general (not to mention the Trauma Center for the Wii). Sadly, I fear that due to the limited number of spots availible for third party characters, Derek will probably end up on the cutting room floor, but on the other hand, Atlus DOES seem to have a good relationship with nintendo, so Dr. Stiles may just have a fighting chance.

Hmmm... try Galbadia Hotel. That's where I find most of my vg music when I need it. I think it's something like gh.ffshrine.org. If that doesn't work, just google it.

Stiles has credentials..... I dunno about you guys..... but I have yet to see Dr. Marios degree....... can you say malpractice in the mushroom kingdom? I mean Stiles has scalpels and sutures and stuff, all "Dr" Mario has is lab coat, a head mirror and some pills....COLOURED pills I might add, sounds to me like Mario got bored between games and broke into the castle infirmiry......

An interesting idea. He would diffently be someone different to add in. You did a realy cool moveset and pictures for him. The only thing is that his super smash attack might cause people with a fear of doctors and/or neddles a heart attack or stroke.

Your right, but I'm not sure how to put it in :ohwell: Do you have any suggestions?
For his super smash thing (Not sure what it's called, really), instead of pumping his heart full of morphine, have the star appear onscreen and then he does all the things with the scalpel and the crutch and stuff.

How about instead of doing a bunch of damage to everyone, he instead heals himself with his super. Just a suggestion

How about he heals a certain mount of health back relevant to the amount of damage he deals, like gain 1% for every 5% dealt or something? It is the HEALING touch after all :ohwell:

Zombie Cola was awesome enough to include Stiles in the list of characters he wants, and deserved + rep for realising what an awesome character he is.
