The Advance Wars Series begun on Nintendo's earliest systems as a simple strategy turn-based war game, but as time went on it has been iterated in three different games across Nintendo's two latest handheld gaming systems. It is critically acclaimed and has a large fanbase. It has also been spun-off to create 2 games (See Battalion Wars). The characters from the AW series are memorable and unique. I think that each would make a good inclusion into the game, whether as a playable character or even as a Assist Trophy. Here we will talk about both. As it stands I believe that this series deserves two representatives, much as Fire Emblem (a similar game in terms of gameplay/graphics) got into Melee. Below are the Commanding Officers I believe to be most deserving of that spot.
Andy - Andy has been in all three advance wars games, and is essentially the games' main character, or protagonist if you will. He has become the face of the franchise and is well liked by fans.
Sami - Sami is one of the (if not the) most popular in the series, she is known to be "hot" and would increase the number of girls in brawl. Something which almost everyone wants done.
Eagle - Perhaps the most popular character in the series Eagle is a known badass.
Kanbei - The possibilities with his samurai sword are endless and would make a great addition to the Brawl roster.
Grit - The most popular Blue Moon character. Has a pistol, which may limit his chances. While Olaf is the CO in charge of Blue Moon, his maneuverability is questionable.
Hawke - Hawke is well liked and very awesome, his large build may make him dwarf even Ganondorf.
Sturm - His appearance in the Series has been erratic but is well liked in the games he is included in.
