So before I found out about the leak, I was thinking; because of what they did with Melee, for every new Smash release they will expected to have a whole crapload of new characters and levels. I thought they'd need a whole bunch to satisfy the Brawl expectations (and I was right, was I not? D
. And then I realised, that if they gave the fans most of what they were hoping for, it's very likely there could never be a new Smash game after Brawl -- there very likely wouldn't be enough content to cut it.
So after I got over my initial unhappiness at the roster (LANDMASTER MUCH?!?) I got to thinking, why would they have done that? One of the many possible (somewhat feasible) explanations I came up with is... they're saving stuff for later. I mean, they've already had to expand a bit and include characters like Snake and Sonic, they've had to add multiple Pokemon and in general characters from the same series (LANDMASTER MUCH?!?) -- how far can they go without straying too far from their roots, what the series was supposed to be all about? If they take things slower, it gives them more time, more to work with for future Smash games. Perhaps they also didn't want people to expect TOO much from future ones. Dunno.
Don't get me wrong, I don't truly believe this myself. Just throwing it out there. Personally, I think this will probably be the last Smash game regardless.
If it's already been said somewhere that this is the last one, somebody shoot me. >_>
