This may sound like a long shot, but I think Octoling would make a great Inkling clone, if we were to get a second Splatoon character in the roster.
Octolings are getting their chance to shine with Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, where they're being playable for the first time officially, plus, Octoling amiibo were revealed as well, but we don't know a release date for the figures yet.
How Octolings would work in Smash:
Four octogirls, and four octoboys. Each with different colors and outfits, with one boy and girl being red-haired, as red is the main color for Octolings. Octoling's moveset may be identical to Inkling's, but it could have a few changes as well. Not sure about a different Final Smash, which we know Inkling's is Killer Wail. Octoling could also have that same Final Smash.
With Octoling in the roster, we would have both Inklings and Octolings fighting it out.
What are your ideas of how Octoling could work in Smash? What do you think of this idea for a clone character?
