Hey, Conti from Ocean County Smash (OcS) with our new Monmouth County - Freehold location (Better for you North Jersey, New York and PA folks and still close enough for Ocean County Players to travel!)

Super Smash Bros Melee and ProjectM in the Microsoft Store in the Freehold Raceway Mall! They’ve started expanding their gaming community to more than just Xbox and welcome the Super Smash Bros Community to start doing events at their store. Huge opportunity to really get the general public more involved as it is a quite popular mall and some of the event will be located in their Lounge in front of the store in the mall walkway. BBW's Melee Stream will also be located in the store!

This is a New bi-weekly series (Occuring on Thursdays) happening alongside a bi-weekly WiiU series (On the weeks inbetween on Wednesdays) as well! Come through for some fierce singles action with high level players from the Tristate Region!
Next event is going to be on the Tristate Circuit. More info coming soon!

General Rules:

Game version: US Nintendo GameCube
Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, Pause Disabled, 2/3 Games
Wobbling is legal.
Freezing and infinite stalling are not legal.
First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
Any matches that are best of five, there are no stage bans.
You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.

The Ocean County Smash - OcS Microsoft Series continues with eSport Event#2 in the Microsmash Series for Super Smash Bros Melee/PM This Thursday! RSVP ON THE FB LINK HERE PLS!

We had 55people at our first two events and it ran very smooth! A few adjustments have been made to make this Thursday feel even better then last time!
Microsoft will have more free Drinks and stuff! They hooked me up with some Discount Cards for in store purchases! They will do another raffle/giveaway most likely like usual! The venue is in one of the most lit malls in all of NJ.
If you missed out last week, definitely find some time this Thursday to come play! If you are more into Smash4 definitely check out the "Windows SB" Series happening on the weeks inbetween on Wednesday as a Bi-Weekly!

Our 1st Event was really sick with 55 Players! Free Drinks! A Raffle! Tons of stuff to do in this Venue! A lot of hype!

This event has more time for friendlies/bracket now with earlier start times! So definitely come thru and let everyone know! Thanks much!

Also let's hype this up (Invite/Share/Spread Word about this Event Series)! We are going to be lit tomorrow!

*** Announcement (Bad News :[ ) ***
I regret to inform everyone that the Microsoft Smash Series has been Canceled/Shut Down. Unfortunately Microsoft's Main Corperate Office has gotten word of our SmashBros events being hosted at the Corp Store in the Mall.
They came down on the Store for hosting "Another companies game, Playing for Money and Microsofts Company 'not owning' the brand". They concluded with "Microsoft is put at legal risk by Nintendo and have to immediately end the tournaments in our store. I'm so sorry about this inconvenience but I just got word myself from our head of gaming."
The store themselves Loved us (They felt that we were one of the most pleasant and unique groups they have ever hosted for) and are rather upset/disappointed in the Company's decision but it's out of their hands. I am working on contacting Corp to attempt to appeal this but we all know the chances of that happening are quite slim.
We aren't done here yet tho guys. We bounce back even stronger every single time something like this happens. I'm not sure if I'll ever find a Venue that can contest how incredible the Microsoft Venue was. But after having a taste of a perfect location, high end spectating equiptment, all the space and attractions and food choices, I am determined to match that hype and find us someplace just as good or better! I'll try my best. It might take some time but we will find a new Home for the Ocean County Smash - OcS Series.
Thank you all so much for supporting me, this series and this community in any way you have ever have. Special thanks to Microsoft's Coordinators Ray and Jennifer Rose for giving us such an amazing opportunity in the first place and helping give us the Hypest Summer of Smash to date. We really appreciated it and hope that one day maybe we can team up again. Otherwise the memories will always be there (Thank God for mad FB VoDs and stream VoDs).
I'll keep you all posted but as of now I have no plans on a temporary location or backup venue for the last 2 events I had planned. I'll let you all know as soon as I figure things out! So my events are Mia for now, check out all the other scenes and Venues in the meantime and just keep an eye out for my next big move.
