Occasional constant input lag on wii u, not on 3ds?

So I've been having issues on the Wii U specifically (and used to have them on the Wii) with occasional input lag when playing online. I'm pretty sure it's not my connection (as the 3DS literally never has this issue on this wifi). I'm also pretty sure it's not a TV issue as the problem sometimes goes away for a pretty long period on this TV, and I had the same issue on my CRT for the Wii. I also don't have the option for a wired connection. The most confusing part of this problem is it will usually happen for about 30 mins straight for games (so I don't think it's the people I'm matched against, it's too consistent) and then there will be about an hour straight of 0 input lag. Anyone have any idea what's up?

To answer your question, you are not offering a lot of data in regards to figuring out why you are lagging. You also discard many of the possible systems that may be causing it. Wireless connections, even though you might have a good download and upload speed, still lag depending on the distance (thus, the connection) between you and the opponent. This is commonly measured in milliseconds. This contributes to a drop in frames. If it's not the connection, have you checked that your TV is in gaming mode? If it is not, then this could be the reason why you are having input lag. This is an observation I would tell most of my friends and it fixed the issue for them as well as myself.

It can be distance, it can be your connection, your opponent's connection, other devices can hog up the bandwidth of your router. Lots of factors can affect input lag and/or lack thereof.

The first, second, and fourth reasons I listed are generally the most common with constant lag. If your connection is good and you know it (because you pay for it), it's probably distance.
