Hi!:kirby: I'm Michelle and i'm new to smashboards. I am mostly here to get advise on how to improve my game as I get a bit more flustered than I'd like to admit when I lose but I enjoy winning and just the game in general.

I play with my friends online occasionally but mostly stick to 1v1 For Glory as I imagine a lot of players do. This is where some of my frustration comes from as it's often laggy and the "taunt after every kill even if it's nothing special" mindset a lot of players have, combined with my passing-at-best skill level it results in my loss a lot of the time. No Johns though it's largely my fault.

My favorite character in Smash 4 (which is the only game I play, I grew up with Melee and eventually Brawl though and I'd like to return to them someday when I get the chance, probably not at a competitive level though) is :4palutena: and I'd call her my main character. I am well aware that she is not the most popular nor the best character and that this may result in some of my losses as well, so I am looking for a second character to main who covers her weaknesses and my own. (I have lots of trouble with fast paced rushdown type of matches, like against Fox/Sonic/Captain Falcon)

But that's for another topic, I just wanted to have some substance to this thread. Yeah that's about it. Cheers and happy smashing, it's nice to be here :dr^_^:

Howdy and welcome to Smashboards! I'm kinda in the same boat too but you seem to be ahead of me in that you've got a main chosen. I've played since Melee as well but just recently decided i wanted to be part of the Sm4sh competitive scene.

Anyway if you are as well (you said you wouldn't for the others so im not sure about your thoughts on competitive Sm4sh) then i found out recently For Glory is actually NOT the a good place for new players. The best way to learn (as i've been told multiple times) is to find a scene near you and try to play with them in offline matches.

If you are not interested then please ignore the whole second paragraph xD. Anyway always nice to see a new fa.....avatar around here and Happy Smashing!

Welcome! For Glory doesn't really give you some progress. It's just.. there, for your average Miiverse fanboy skrub. It's pretty much what Murlough said above.

I'd be glad to help with site-related questions. Enjoy your stay.
