This is an unrealistic lineup, Nintendo cannot afford producing all those titles until 2017.

What I want

- Mario Sunshine 2 or 3D World 2
- Ice Climbers reboot
- Kid Icarus Uprising sequel
- Metal Gear Solid 2 remake
- new Pokemon Ranger
- Zelda Link's Awakening remake/sequel
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Dragon Quest
- Final Fantasy VII remake
- Shenmue IV

What we will get:

- New Super Mario Bros. 3
- Pikmin 4 port
- Call of Duty
- Pokemon Shuffle 2
- Zelda Phantom Hourglass (3D?)
- Sonic Lost World 2

I'm pretty sure Pikmin 4 has to exist before it can be ported.

Unfortunately, no console in the history of gaming has ever had a good launch line up, with the exception of the Dreamcast's NA and EU launch. But that's only because SEGA let it roll around Japan for a year before releasing it in the west.

Which actually might not be a bad idea for the NX.

Actually they can afford it, Retro is already working on Metroid Prime 4, Zelda could be ported over to NX, Smash can also be ported over, and few of those titles you thought of would get people going to a midnight release, I mean seriously, NSMB3?, now with EVEN MORE RECYCLED GAMEPLAY, We don't need a Phantom Hourglass remake, it didn't sell well enough

Retro is NOT working on Metroid Prime 4. They are currently working on a Wii U title that has been rumoured to be DKC 6 or Diddy Kong Racing 2.

And Phantom Hourglass didn't sell well enough?! It's the second best selling handheld Zelda. 4.5 million copies is more than all recent Zelda titles sold overall, like Skyward Sword, Spirit Tracks and A Link Between Worlds. An remake is more than welcome cause those touch controls are completely horrible and almost ruined the game.

I don't think Smash and Zelda will be ported over, this isn't a smart choice and it can be too expensive cause the NX apparently has different techinical specs. If Nintendo wants to distance themselves from the DS and Wii brands, they need to start over with fresh and new titles, I don't even think backwards compatibility will be a thing.

The only Metroid game in development at the moment is Federation Force and it's not even being made by Retro Studios.

And they started working on DKCTF right after DKCR, it's a possibility. Although I think their next title is a spinoff.

But Nintendo would be playing it conservatively and that bit them in the you-know-what with the Wii U Launch, a console launch is the absolute worst time to be conservative since that's the time to get hype and develop an install base for the console

I don't think you've studied previous console launches enough.

Consoles launches aren't a time to be conservative or liberal with your games. It's a time to try and generate the most hype with the least amount of effort put into your titles.

It definitely would depend on how the NX ends up coming out as but if I were to call the shots, I would say the lineup goes like this:

SMS 2 or SMG 3 (Miyamoto has hinted at a 3rd in the past)
Mario Party 11 (ridding of the cart mechanic)
Possibility of another Smash installment. or DLC expansion software
Possibly
try to work on another SF game

I also think it would be fun if Nintendo held some type of ballot (similar to the Smash Ballot, but with stricter rules) where fans could vote what top 3 games they would like to see released for the NX.

Nearly all of Nintendo's latest console launches were seriously lacking in games:
DS
Wii
3DS
Wii U
None of the games listed on these pages I'd get hyped for, and I can recall articles stating stuff like 'after a slow start...' for most of these consoles.

I'm not sure what to expect from the NX with the whole console/handheld hybrid shtick. I mean, what we've heard of it power-wise, it sounds like a proper console, but where does the handheld part come into play? Can we expect handheld-like games such as Mario & Luigi on it, and how would that work?

It's most just Nintendo's consoles. The PS2 launched with a ton of garbage and a handful of alright games here and there. Likewise, the Genesis had nothing on it besides Altered Beast I guess.

The point is, buying a console at launch is always a bad idea.

The Dreamcast had a fantastic launch lineup and it showed with the console's sales in the launch window

Well the whole idea was to have a launch lineup full of compelling launch titles to spur interest and to not make the same mistake as in Wii U

Wii U did not have a bad launch lineup neither did the Wii.

I guess you guys weren't around during the N64 and GC days. N64 launched with Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings only and they were expensive as ****, like 70 bucks each. GC launched with Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race...

At least Wii U had NSMBU, Monster Hunter 3U, Ninja Gaiden, Tekken, Batman Arkham City and Nintendo Land. Those aren't bad games and it's a solid lineup that can please different target audiences.

The problem with the Wii U was the bad marketing that led casual gamers and "normal" people to think it was an add-on to Wii or a new version like the Wii mini. That E3 trailer was so damn bad!

So, a rehash of a rehash, an HD port of a Wii game, two PS360 ports and a mini game collection? Ninja Gaiden is good if you're into hardcore beat 'em ups, but aside from that there's nothing on that list that either isn't quaint or something we haven't played before.

The problem with the Wii U is a combination of bad marketing, no third party support, it's limited platformer-centric library and the fact that the damn thing has been on the market since late 2012 and I'm still struggling to find games I really want to play on it. For the most part my Wii U is basically a dust collector until I have friends over and we maybe sometimes play Mario Kart or Smash 4 on it.

EDIT: Although I am super pumped for Fatal Frame V.

I like my Wii U, it basically got me back to Nintendo, after the series of disappoints I had with the Wii, I was very skeptical and didn't think they could make good games with decent controls again, but then Wii U surprised me. My most wanted games are yet to be released, so I can't complain that much. I still have to get Super Mario Maker and Splatoon though, they're definitely a must have for every Wii U owner

Am I the only person who doesn't care for third party support that much? It's been like that since the N64, it won't change now. Gaming in general has been very disappointing since the last generation and Nintendo seems to be the only company that can somewhat please me. My other favorite franchises were ruined, had games shelved or had multiple unnecessary re-releases and remakes.

You're certainly in the minority in saying that you don't care about third party. While I enjoy Sony's consoles, it would be nice if I could just play everything on one box and I didn't have to see my Nintendo consoles become dust-covered "companions" to whatever PlayStation is dominating my living room. If I could play Final Fantasy or Metal Gear on the same box I play Zelda and Metroid on that would be a godsend, but as you said Nintendo has had third party issues since the N64. But just because it's been that way forever doesn't mean it should stay that way. Nintendo has had a painfully slow release schedule since the N64, I shouldn't have to turn to their competition to find things to hold me over until Nintendo releases something that isn't a 2D platformer/SNES nostalgiafest.

I don't know what your favorite franchises are, but I'm not sure how updated releases and remakes are bad for a franchise unless that's all they're doing.

The Wii was OK. Only complaints I had was the silly, needless steering wheels they released for MK 7 and that bombshell known as Mario Party 9. Other than that, most of the titles for the Wii were good. I could actually do decent at bowling lol.

I was hoping Mario Party 10 wouldn't be reminiscent of Mario Party 9. It ended up being just that though. Why, just why did they have to add that stupid cart? If there had been a departure from that, I might had tried out (and possibly bought) the game. The Super Mario Galaxies I played were good and challenging enough, something DK Country Returns lacked to present (okay, the cart missions at times were a bit tricky because obstacles were a tad unpredictable) but overall, that's a game you can finish in a day easy.

As for third party shindigs, I honestly don't know, since I'm not a hardcore gamer in the first place, and most of the third party stuff I've never even heard of (which is why Shovel Knight and Shantae are so foreign to me).
I really would love it if Nintendo worked on a SF installment following SF Zero as one of their first gaming ventures with the NX launch.

SF Zero is just, just no.

To be fair, Shantae was foreign to everyone until sometime in the mid-2000s when the internet discovered there was an obscure GBC game about a cute genie girl.

I don't want a galaxy 3, I kind of want a new kind of Mario game
