that's basically what they did to samus for this smash bros.

Yes I still main her, and yes I play as best as I can to learn every bit about how to really use her now. However, she got nerfed into oblivion. Fsmash, missles, bombs, charge shot, dAir, you can no longer slide when you do dsmash. It's just crazy, why would they gimp her so bad? I could see nerfing the super missles, those were a bit much, but **** they suck now. Also why is Samus the only one that suffers a penalty for using her final smash. No I don't want to be Failure Suit Samus every time I use my final smash. I just grab the smash ball so others won't get it. I just find it strange that you can transform zelda anytime but getting between samus and FSS requires a smash ball or that hard to do taunt, then if you wanna be samus again you have to get the smash ball again.

Too bad they'll never fix these problems.

I'm pretty sure most people on here don't play with items. And ZSS is an amazing character, try getting good with her.

Dair didn't get nerfed... it's a lot easier to connect with and Samus' new floatiness makes it more usable during shorthops. The hitbox is surprisingly wide as well. Her smashes are pretty bad, true, but her down tilt and zair are nice assets. It's definitely true she's been nerfed, but I don't think you've played enough as her to see that she can be quite good, given you put the time in to learn her new playing style.

I'm going home today to work on my samus game. it's just aggravating, especially considering how much work and strategy I put into the last one... I guess we're all starting over again. Also I understand that Zero suit is a legitimate character but I want to be Samus only, so having to change if I want to use my final smash is not too cool.

I play with Samus so much that I'm starting to ignore the nerfs. I occasionally curse when I miss an Fsmash by a hair, and I'm still upset they nerfed the bombs to the degree that they did, but when you get over those things you learn to adapt.

Maybe you should've posted this in the hundreds of other threads that talk about how Samus got nerfed. It's been 4 months, almost 5, from when brawl was released. You should be getting over things by now.

i actually was the other way. i use zamus and used to only get smash balls so that other people couldn't (usually keep them until i die, or when i know i'll be able to taunt back to zamus really fast)...

but i after i got metroid corruption, i got enough determination to keep trying samus, and now i am not repelled from using her any more, and i use both a lot.

Samus got more range on her Ftilt and Dtilt. Her trapping options have also improved a lot with her new missiles and charge shot, plus her amazing Zair.

She plays more like Samus should. Running away a lot, shooting lots of missiles, charging her lazur and shooping it etc. I like her new playstyle. I just wish she could hit short characters and fire her super missiles a bit faster.

In Australia, brawl was released on the 26th of June. So I'm still having trouble with the transition from Melee Samus.

I really dislike the constant running and dodging mainly due to the fact I didn't have to do it so much in melee. Also, it doesn't suit her at all. Why wear armour when you're just going to run anyway? Wouldn't that armour hinder you when fleeing?

Considering all the smash attack nerfs, I really do think they should have left her super missiles alone.

Yeah, people seriously need to give her time. She's extremely good to me, making it insanely difficult for anyone to approach with short hopped missiles/homing missiles/zairs then followed up by a tiny charge shot, and if they're too close, you can run up to them and grab them in the mini stun they received from the charge shot. Which then leads to repeating it over, just mixing around your short hopped attacks and then begin to finish them off near 120%. Also, don't neglect to use her jabs and dilts, they work wonders. Not to mention, this is all without any advanced techniques, maybe someday... Oh, and if your friends complain you're doing it too much, tell them to **** off - after all, she IS Super Smash Bros. ranged specialist.

Her Dtilt apears to be her only buff, but man she's so nerfed, why so much nerf from captain falcon and power suit samus?

FFS.

Stop comparing Melee and Brawl! They are two completely different engines.

For christ sakes people, Samus is an amazing character. Stop being babies.

Charge shot is still an incredible kill move.

Her only two real "nerfs" are fsmash and smash missiles (which were over powered anyway.)

*cough* bombs *cough* <-- do I even have to say it?

Charge shot is a guaranteed kill if you land it on an offstage foe in melee, not so much in brawl. You need like 80% to kill an offstage foe with it in brawl.

*cough* utilt *cough* <-- slowwwwww

*choke* dsmash *choke* <-- favorite move blown to bits D:

*heart attack* nair *heart attack* <-- best priority is now crap priority

dsmash and nair are probably two of the biggest aggravations for me, super missle is pretty bad, it was overpowered in melee but they could have found a middle ground, it's now powderpuffmissle.

Super missile is still pretty good. Its good shield pressure and sets up for combos.
