So, I know there's been a lot of negative talk around lately about how the PM scene is suffering, so I wanted to provide some of my perspective as one of the main TO's in my area.
I TO tourneys on the East coast of canada. Around here, I host PM and Melee monthlies in New Brunswick. (No equipment/time for Smash4, among other reasons for not hosting) In Prince Edward island, they exclusively play PM, and Nova Scotia has a a large scene for at least 4 of the 5 smash games. (I believe they swapped out Brawl for S4 at their events.)
The fact that PM wont be held at apex sucks, but I swear, the moment I can figure out how to get enough PM players here to hold an event of that size, I certainly will. :p So just keep playing and sharing the game.
Over here on the east coast of canada, things are looking good and growing. Hopefully it's looking like this other places, and this is just lots of noise.

Good lord. PM isn't going anywhere. We need to let the hype from Sm4sh wear off and PM will be back at the big tournaments when Nintendo doesn't give a **** anymore. We still have plenty of smaller scale hubs supporting PM. People need to cool it with the doomsday crying and just be patient.

Agreed.
Plus now that apex is over, and the Nintendo sponsorship didn't really mean anything. (No special announcments as they mentioned, splatoon wasn't playable at the venue, ect ect.) I think people willl calm the hell down and go back to just playing the smash they love.
