so i main fox, and im pretty good with em (not dirty sick nasty... but pretty good). i can do most of his sickness consistantly, however my problem is not with fox, its with being not fox. i spent so much time training my fingers to be fast enough to play fox in the first place, that when i play with my other char's (doc, dorf, samus, sheik, and luigi) my fingers wont slow down. i know how to fix it, that isnt my question. the answer is to just practice more with the other guys and learn the timing as well as i know fox's timing. i was just wondering if any other fox mains have had the same problem.

Well, I have trouble like that too, but it's the opposite. When I try to use my other characters (Falco, Link, Sheik) I get used to them and when I try to switch back to Fox, I lose control of him and it's like Fox's need to be insanely technical that it overloads my brain and I'm kind of stuck in my tracks. I would try to do comboes that I practiced for hours (waveshine, etc, etc...), but I end up getting beaten up a lot and killing myself. What's strange is that I practice almost exclusively with Fox.

Yup me too, and that's why I decided to play fox only, because I've got used so much to fox that I can't slow down, I need to feel that speed and none of the other characters can give me that, only fox...

Just take the time to remind yourself how to play the character. It'll all come back to you after a while.

It's mainly my wavedashing that gets screwed up when I pick characters other than Fox, simply because I haven't practiced enough with them. But If practice too much with someone else (like Falco or Marth) then my Fox playing is screwed up is well :(

gonna have to do something about that haha

the only character switch that really presents a problem for me is falco just because of the similar movesets, and even then its only his awkward wavedash timing, it takes me a little to get used to the switch. Otherwise I have no problems moving to CF, Sheik, or CF who I usually alternate between.

I had that problem in the beginning too. It's because I play as Ness as well as Fox. Fox and Ness have to completely different play styles that took a while for me to get used to switching between them. But after a while, all I have to do now is move around a little with Fox or Ness to get used to them again during a match.

Nope, never had that. I play like a fusion of mew2king and masashi's fox, so not too fast or technical. Lots of backairs and stuff.

I forget my playstyle from time to time though. Does that happen to anyone else? I play a variety of characters even at tournies, but I only forget Fox from time to time.

yeah that happened to me to me too about 6 months ago when i started playing gdorf as my second. i started with gdorf as my main but got ***** consistantly so i learned fox for a year and decided i was good enough at the game in general to start some other characters but i was TERRIBLE. but now after alittle practice my fingers have slowed down to gdorf speed when i pick him and go right back to fox speed at will.

I can't WD with Falco, which effectively kills my Falco simply because I am too adjusted to Fox... >.>
