Noob question about national dex.

If I bought Diamond, then how do I see Pearls legendary to get the national dex?

First of all, this should be asked in the question / answer thread.

After the Elite 4, Dawn will tell you the elder in Celestic Town is looking for you. Go there, and she'll show you a picture of Palkia, which will count as seeing it and thus be updated in the Sinnoh Dex.
