I've done a bit of looking (though it's more than possible I missed something), and can't find how to properly multishine. I know that you can JC a Shine to continue movement ASAP, but how exactly do you do it?

Yes, I main Marth, but I'm thinking that I'll start training Falco as a secondary. I'm more than capable of wavedashing, SHFFLing, teching, etc.

Step 1: Jump cancel your shine.
Step 2: Before leaving the ground due to the jump cancel, shine again.
Step 3: RInse and Repeat.
Voila! You can multishine.

So just shine -> jump. -> shine again? Just super fast?

EDIT: That sounded sloppy, probably because I was typing it on my phone. That is to say, shine -> jump button (Y for me) -> another shine? I think holding down throughout the whole sequence would make it easier, but goodness Saiblade do you make it sound easy. My issue is that I keep on using my second shine just off of the ground so I get stuck in a shine and I'm forced to use my second jump to escape it. Any tips for this situation? Frame data for the timing would be wonderful.

I hold down the whole time. You're about to get it, but not fast enough. Try wiggling your thumb between B and Y while holding down, it works for some.

Multishine data:

The numbers represent frames.

1 Shine, Hitlag
2 Hitlag
3 Hitlag
4 Hitlag
5
6
7 Start Jump
8
9
10 Airborne, Shine, Hitlag
11 Hitlag
12 Hitlag
13 Hitlag
14
15
16
17 Land
18 Start jump
19
20
21 Airborne, Shine, Hitlag
Repeat from frame 11. Assuming shine isn’t very stale (if stale multiplier¹ is below 0.9, shield stun will last 1 frame less so frames 8 and 17 would be red instead of green)

FALCO
1 Shine, Hitlag
2 Hitlag
3 Hitlag
4 Hitlag
5 Hitlag
6
7
8 Start Jump
9
10
11
12
13 Airborne, Shine, Hitlag
14 Hitlag
15 Hitlag
16 Hitlag
17 Hitlag
18
19
20
21 Land
22 Start Jump
23
24
25
26
27 Airborne, Shine, Hitlag

Let me give you some advice. If you say you're a noob, you really really really shouldn't be wasting your time learning multishining. There are far better things you could be practicing such as waveshining, shine wavelands, double lasers from ledge, shine grab, safe shield pressure. Double shines are realistically the only useful form of multishines unless you're doing some flashy crap that will end up not getting you anything lol

My only question: stale multiplier?
Didn't mean to add that part, but basically using a move over and over stales it, making it do less damage and hitstun (iirc). It goes by a multiplier, which I don't know much about, I'll research it and contact you. If you'd like, you can add me on skype at "beywars".

I partially agree, I do think it's very important to learn multishining to at least 4 though. I recommend learning this, and doing a checklist type system of learning your tech.

There's never any situation where you would realistically do 4 multishines though lol. Double shine grab would theoretically cover ever option and the margin of error past 2 is very high. High risk not very high reward. If you mess up you get grabbed or punished OoS. Best case scenario you hit them with a shine, when you could just shine grab instead for very low risk high reward. Pretty useless to do more than two in that sense. Especially at low level of play.

Alright. Thanks to both of you. When I say I'm a noob, I only mean with Falco. My Marth (main) is getting quite good, so I decided to start getting a secondary character ready. Falco's cool imo, so I'm going for him.

I'll probably add you later Saiblade.

Y-L, I'll practice those techniques and my spacing more in the near future. I don't have too much more for my Marth to learn before real experience is the only thing to help him.
