No user folder in dolphin file to put SD card. 'Wii' folder does not work either

SOLUTION: Use the folder in my documents not the one in programs when putting the SD card in dolphin. Also, use the folder labeled 'Wii' found in the 'sys' folder if using newer dolphin version that don't have a users folder. Hope this helps.

SOLUTION 2: Make a 2GB virtual SD card

When I open boot.elf or the other file in the gecko folder, this --> htt p://imgur. com/NoJKybP (get rid of spaces in link for it to function) <-- shows up.

In the walkthrough video, there was a different screen that said melee 2.0 when they opened the gecko folder in dolphin. I downloaded the background.png file separately as advised and put it in the SD card along with the contents of the homebrew folder so I believe the problem is that the SD card is not loaded. It says no SD card detected when I start up smash bros brawl through the boot.elf file.

Where do I put the SD card in the dolphin file if not in the users file in a wii folder because there is no users folder, and if not in the 'Wii' folder in the 'sys' folder, where do I put it. If there is a different problem with it let me know because I am at a loss.

It for sure goes in the wii folder in the sys folder. Did you turn on insert SD card in Dolphin settings? Also did you really bump your thread pretending to be someone else lol

Just to be clear newer revisions of dolphin read the folders in "my documents"...there should be a folder for dolphin there. Are you using that one?

try using the my documents one in that case.
Somehow it's already in the documents one so the documents one mirrors the other i guess.
To be clear, it looks like this --> http ://imgur. com/ftyWCYz (delete spaces to work) <-- in my documents.

no, if you run dolphin with the sd option checked, and there is no sd card, it will create an empty one...just dlete the empty one and put your PM one in its place.

Keep in mind that unless you are testing mods you should probably use injected iso instead of virtual SD. Injected iso is faster, easier to boot up, and allows online play with Netplay while virtual SD has audio crackling (unless you change the hook type which is annoying to do every time).

Okay now the main menu says melee 2.0 but it said no SD codes found after i entered and the game and when i pressed stage builder it did not go anywhere. I think the problem is from when i put the stuff in the SD card and there was not enough space for the last few files put does that mean i should make a bigger SD card? 1 GB and not 512 MB?

just make a 2gb one, better option. All files are neccessary, also assure yourself that you have the newest pm 3.02

VBI only has to be enabled once :/ as long as you press "save config" itll be fine...

Even using a 2GB SD card and putting it in both the documents dolphin folder and the programs one in each 'Wii' folder Project M does not load when i open stage builder and when i press launch game in the 'melee 2.0' main menu it says no SD codes found.

You have to go into stage builder for project m to start i thought you enter brawl menu and navigate to stage builder to initiate the project m. Also I downloaded gecko OS and all i got was the folder that has boot.elf. Is there more to gecko than that?

Hmm my config settings never save, but I only use SD for testing my custom build.

It seems like you have everything already set up just make sure you right click brawl and set it as default iso and instead of going to the stage builder you go to dolphin->file->open->geckoOS->boot.elf

I had to change config settings in menu that pops p. Now it says setting up drive and ive been waiting for a few minutes.

Gecko hook type should be VBI?

I'm not sure how to fix that or if it's just loading.

The only other things I can think of are you did not follow the NUS ownloader step of the guide...or your ISO is PAL. If you did the NUS step, and your ISO is infact NTSC, then try Y-L's Injected ISO method, might do better for you.
My iso is pal but it plays well. What are pal and NTSC? I just remember it saying pal before i BOUGHT IT ON AMAZON AND RIPPED it.

Dolphin 4.0+ does not require nus downloader.

Yes, until the next pm release pal (not a US copy) brawl is not supported.

Also do not talk about torrenting unless you want this thread locked.

Not sure where in this post you assumed my post meant torrenting :/ you jump to some weird conclusions. by "get an NTSC" I mean buy one on amazon and rip it....
THAT is the problem Project M is not made for PAL. Find an NTSC or you're sadly SOL
nope, torrenting is not in this post, please reread this sentance

Go to the guide in my siggy and go to the faq and read the part about controller issues.

And for future reference just continue in the thread you already posted if it's still active.
