No signatures

It's been mentioned that the old rule was no signatures in the Debate Hall, and I completely forgot to explain that to newer members. So, effective Friday, any signatures posted in the DH will be disabled.

The signature just create too much confusion in the walls of text and take away from the actual arguments at hand.

I can see where you're coming from, but isn't banning people from the debate hall just for having a signature just... stupid?

I can see infraction points or something, but saying 'ZOMG YOUR ONE LINE SIG SHOWED UP NOW UR BANNED FROM HERE' is just dumb.

This is actually an old rule from the old debate hall. Signatures have BEEN banned. I said I will delete your signature if you post it once. If you post it a second time, yeah, banned.

yeah that seems kind of rough, seeing as the "Show your signature" box is checked by default for a lot of people, and that's often not something that's on your mind when you're making a post

I uncheck my signature all the time. This room is intended for the intellectual elite. Unchecking a box really that hard to fathom, but discussing the intricacies of life is cakewalk? I don't buy that.

I think that is EXACTLY why people often 'forget' to disable it; the posts in here are meant to be much deeper and more thought out, and with such an emphasis on content, it's more likely that someone will forget trivial things like clicking a checkbox

If disabling signatures as a sweeping move is possible (like someone just stated), why can't it just be done on a forum-level basis?

I gota agree little harsh, but I can try to remember not to let my sig show up. Its not to hard if you remember what might happen, and after you post you can see it before you move on all you have to do is change your post when you see that your sig is there. Its quick and if you changed it before any1 sees it then its all good.
