Let's cut to the chase here. When Sakurai released the Final Smash for Pit, the last picture showed Ike deflecting a Centurion. However, it certainly doesn't look like he countered it with an attack, it looks like a kind of blocking stance. (You know, like holding back in a street fighter game?)

How much would that really affect the game play do you think, if there really is no shield, but only a forward block? That would make aerials a bit better IMO because they can go over the blocked area... Is it possible you can angle the block, or what?

Let's here what the community thinks.

Edit: Well ****, it seems I came up too slow. I posted to find another thread had just been started on the same topic. Just my luck... -_-

It could be an uncharge Eruption.
It could be a down tilt.
It could be a down smash.
It could be that he shielded and removed it immediately.
It could be a Counter or a whole new technique.
It could be they, yes, changed the shields as a whole.

It's not worth speculating upon yet. Too many possibilities.
I stick to what I've said. That's not definitively a shield.

Looks like what he^ said.

I agree fully.. A bubble shield isn't a very nice picture to show off in a Final smash announcement right?

Meh, even if they remove the bubble shield. I just pray to god they havent made it so that you can just shield your whole body for as long as youd like, whenever you like..

I mean the whole lightshielding thing in melee I thought was a superb strategic move in certain places such as edgeguarding vs marth, letting him UP b into your light shield which knocks you into an edgehog, and pushes him to his doom!

Anyway I dont care what they look like, I just hope that your shield can still get damaged and break.

I doubt they'd change that. Having a completely unbreakable shield would be way too cheap.

It looks like Marth's and Roy's Down B in Melee, when something touched him or attacked him, he would use a counterattack by hitting him.
