Probably nerves man. Coming from a competitive TF2 player with over 3,000 clocked in the game of pure practice, sometimes you just miss the easiest shots because you know it's gonna be the difference between a win and a loss. Even the best of the best lose their cool sometimes.

Who knows? I could have been the smallest thing. Maybe his finger was sweaty and it slipped from A to B or something.

Pretty sure Mango still made it into the winner's semis though didn't he?

Well, since you are clearly an authority on "Smash Gods" would you care to give us an example of a "Smash God" who hasn't made a technical error at some point?

Oh wait, you were saying he "through" the game. I'm going to assume you meant that he threw the game, meaning he intentionally lost. If that were true, it would be poor sportsmanship, but wouldn't change the fact that he is objectively one of the best players to ever play this game.

If it was a technical error, which it was, once again, it doesn't change the fact that he is one of the best.

I feel like linking the match where M2K misses a waveland and SDs, or the one where Armada accidentally side+B SDs versus Leffen, or where Leffen [maybe not one of your "Smash Gods" SDs versus Mango via not landing using a fair... but I'm too lazy (and I'm sure PPMD and Hbox have a few amusing/saddening technical errors - there was the match where PPMD missed like 5 techs in a row versus Mango, not sure if that counts or if PPMD was trying to make Mango try to read something that wasn't happening).

People make mistakes. It's why we play out all the games, no matter how obvious it may seem that one person is better than another.

Social thread or MLG probably would have been a better place for this topic.

Just sayin' :D But, since it already up.... I am always surprised how often people can play with very few mistakes in general. When you think about some of these matches the sheer number of inputs and timings you are doing in this game is pretty large. I just find it hard to think someone can be good enough to say do something hundreds of times and perhaps never mess up once. Then again, I never really tried practiced maneuvers constantly. Simply play lots of matches and hope stuff improves over time from playing.
