Ness is leaving? I don't think so as I said before Why would sakurai take out one of the original 12 smash characters for no reason? I believe they are playing with our minds and by saying they i mean the English people that were responsible for the translation in the Smash page

this is the original translation from ***, to Spanish I believe

and i can translate this paragraph as:

"Most likely you remember Ness, a character that have appear in the past editions of Smash Brothers. Well Lucas is somewhat like him In fact they both come from the same family of PK users."

if you read it and understand it you might see that there is no Mind game in the Spanish version, is more like an statement just saying that Lucas somehow is like Ness

but here in the English from Japanese Translation
There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar. They are from the same family of PK users.

they use that group of words just to mess up a little bit with our minds

so Ness like any other character is still has a high probablility for being in Brawl
so for those people who uses him as Main or Seconday don't be fooles
and for those who don' even like him, CRY!!!

Actually, Ness has a VERY LOW probabaility of making it in brawl now outside of an AT, which I think he might end up being now. Or an alternate costume to Lucas.

I can't say I'm affected by Ness appearing or not in this game. I've played him no more than half a dozen times in all my time playing Smash Brothers. Still, it does seem like a pity that a character from the first game would be replaced by a character I've never heard of before. So yeah, even if I won't be using him, I hope he still appears in some way or form, even if he is just a costume.

Actually, it's even closer to 'Upto now's super smash brothers series', literally; meaning closer to 'All the previous Smash bros. installments'. This complies with the Spanish and French translations

Um... Sakurai SAID he was going to REPLACE Ness with Lucas in Melee. It's quite obvious that Sakurai had a reason back then to remove Ness, and now that Mother 3 is actually out I don't know why he wouldn't replace Ness with Lucas.

The "original 12" are overrated. No, I don't mean they're bad and I want them gone, I'm just saying I'm sick of people not thinking that not even one of them can leave. Sakurai said characters would leave. At least with Ness being gone he's giving us a replacement with an identical moveset.
