Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their time and help.

So I had project M 3.6 running fine until my gamedisc got scratch [probably due to my wii which literally sounds like a very determined but unsuccessful, electric can-opener]. I've heard about the version of PM that doesn't use a disc because Brawl is on the SD card, but I have no clue where or how to download it. My SD card is 16 GB. Can I get any tips or advice? Thanks once again.

Movies and Music im pretty sure are illegal to make copies of in the US. but i havent seen teh laws.
Software (like installation discs) used to be ok to make 'archival' copies for backup purposes.

Not sure if games fall under Media or software. or what the laws are exactly.

Its not legal to download an ISO period. but there is also no way to tell that its not a rip from your own disk. anyway if you get a hold of an ISO try CFG USB Loader. i know for a fact it supports SD cards to load an iso from (used to do that myself) tho i'd recomend getting a small flash drive (at least 8 gigs, brawl is just under that)

You guys show me someone you know who's been busted for downloading backup copies of physical media, and I'll show you a million dollars. I'll even go to the same debate about roms from an age no one cares about anymore. It's all hysteria and myth. I don't condone piracy by any means, but I think the hysteria is just hilarious.

Wasn't arguing getting caught / being busted. It's just false to say it's legal.

It's like dubbing a cassette from the radio. Noone cared, noone busted you. But it's not legal.

ill leave it that it's probably best to not download pirated content from the internet. I do not live in fear of trivial things like making backups, but that's everyone's personal choice.
