I found on the net that the very most of Smash fans are disappointed by the lack of a story/quest/adventure mode.
That's not what Sakurai said. He said there will be no cinematic cutscenbes like in brawl. But this doesn't mean there will be not another way to tell a story by using the ingame engine. Those of you that are fan of Animal Crossing might know about the ministories among the main chars in the game, that are explained just by dialogues. Now, if you just put some NPC to talk to by pressing UP in the background of the story mode, it could work the same.
Even without that thought, just think of the remastered Ducktales that, despite its HD lifting is still using old school cutscenes, like before the Playstation revolutioned the videogame industry by filling every game of full motion videos to compensate the roughness of ingame graphic and to show the great capability to store data of CDs compared to cartdriges. Now ingame graphic is so much better than those full motion videos that the music video "Californication" looks like retro'. Plus, I noticed by the screencaps that the characters are more expressive now. Ergo: making brief cutscenes with the ingame graphic is possible.
