Unless I'm missing something that's hidden in plain sight, I was gutted that the 3DS version doesn't seem to have the music probability feature found in Brawl, where you could determine which songs are more/less likely to play on a particular stage?

I know most of the stages only have two or three tracks each, but it would've been nice :p

Is this something Nintendo are saving for the Wii U version, I wonder? Oo

I was so disappointed about that. The only stages I'd practice on would be either Yoshi's Island or Reset Bomb Forest in hopes of getting Yoshi's Story (ending) or Dark Pit's music. I really hope it's in the Wii U version.

You can automatically choose the alternate track by holding R while selecting the stage.

Yeah, it's sad really, especially when you look at the list of composers who contributed to the game. I can't imagine they'd leave it out of the Wii U version, but they did drop Event mode as well, so who knows? :/

@ LudwigKoopa LudwigKoopa That's pretty great actually, reminds me of Melee with the alternate FE theme on the Hyrule Castle stage ^^ But some stages have 3-4 alternate tracks. I know Gaur Plain has two awesome battle themes as well as the default. So if you hold R, does it let you choose from a list or is it random?

An unfortunate omission, since some series actually have extra music beyond the tracks used on stages. There was really no reason to leave out My Music other than to put an extra tally in the Wii U version's column.

On the bright side, you can narrow down Smash Run's music list to only play the songs that were left out of stages.

That's a good idea, sadly I'm at the point where Smash Run isn't much fun in solo and my friends would much rather prefer a regular Smash match anyway =P

I'm guessing it then goes random between the alternates. I haven't tested that though. So not perfect, but it's something.

I honestly don't know why stages didn't have the music that was given to their franchises in Smash Run. I mean, the music is already in the game so isn't it a bit pointless not to allocate it to the modes that people will be playing the most?
Yeah I agree. If I had my way I would let players choose any song on any stage regardless of whether it suits it or not. It sounds ridiculous but you could do this on Tekken Tag 2, and some of that team did work on Smash.

I'm pretty sure this is something they're holding off for the Wii U version though. From what I've seen that version looks like it's gonna be superior, so I wouldn't put it past the big N to do this ^^;

My only issues with the system are that I can't outright disable tracks I dislike (or that I just would relatively never want to play). I love Gaur Plains, but I would always prefer They Will Know Our Names. I never want to hear the Pictochat theme more than Fever.

I kinda wish they'd just given us a mini version of My Music, instead of reverting to Melee.
