Smash Wii U No 2DS/3DS Controller online??

I got the GC Controller and the GCN adapter, but I'm starting to realize that I prefer my 2DS as a controller after I've gotten a lot of practice with it.

Only one problem, the online doesn't support the 2DS, which complete bs! What the heck Nintendo??

Anyone else bummed by this? Or is it just me? I'll relearn the GC controller, especially because I know how valuable it is to have the adapter right now, but I'm bummed because I know I am a lot stronger on the 2DS at the moment.

It's kind of interesting how the 3DS as a controller mode takes you into a recursive bizzaro menu when you're playing. I guess this is what was needed to get the controller option to work.

Notice how the supported controllers on the back of the box doesn't have the 3DS pictured? I bet that's because it doesn't offer full functionality.
