Alright, I had this really cool idea of an RTS that would include a bunch of Nintendo characters. You could choose from multiple races, kingdom ect. This game would be different from most RTSes because it would have you focus on a smaller army than a larger one. Usually, the army would consist of maybe 10-15 fighters opposed to 40.
You could choose from different races. Here are some of them I think would be fitting:
Mushroom Kingdomians
Leaders: Mario, Peach, Bowser
Hylians
Leaders: Link, Ganondorf, Zelda
Dream Landers (Kirby's race)
Leaders: Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede
Kantonites (Pokemon race)
Leaders: Pikachu, Mewtwo, Charizard
Allied Nations (Advance Wars)
Leaders: Andy, Nell, Wil (new AW game)
Pikmen
Leaders: Olimar, Louie, President Hocotate
The system I have pinned down for this game is similar to Age of Mythology (might be an obscure game, but defeinitely one of the greates RTSes EVER!) You choose a race, choose a leader. Each leader has their own strenghths and weekneses. For example, Bowser has better advancements for his Koop army, and he might have an exclusive unit (let's say Magikoopas). Peach could have Toads as an exclusive unit and Mario could have the Mario Minis.
Each race has their own "central hub". Zelda has Hyrul Castle, Link has the Temple of Time, Ganodorf has a Gerudo Temple, Bowser has his castle, Mario has a giant Yoshi egg e.c.t. Then you build assisting unit's. The Mushroom Kingdonians have Goombas, the Hylians have Dekus, the Dream Landers have Waddle Dees, the Kantonites have Rattatas, the Allied Nations have Infintry Builders, and the Pikmen have Pikmin (which would function differently in this game).
Each race has a unique way of building units. The Pikmen have White Pikmin which search and find pellets to reproduce more Pikmin. The Mushroom Kingdomians have Yoshi's that gobble random enemies (or other parts of a map) and turn them into eggs which make other units.
Dominating your opponent's base is the main goal for victory. If the game was ever to be thought of by Nintendo, it would definitely have a Story Mode and Online (Friend Code) multiplayer. I just thought I'd put this little idea together. I might make a petition later (as if those ever work) and send it to Nintendo.
