Nintendo is dominating!

Well, Nintendo's fastest selling game is officially Brawl. Also, Wii sales just went up because there is a new reason to get a Wii. The drive to get Wii's is much higher with Brawl out, but they are still nowhere to be found...

Nintendo said today that it sold over 1.4 million copies of Brawl in its first week of availability, including around 875,000 copies on the day of release, March 9.

The Wii outsold the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with the Nintendo DS reigning as the month's best-selling system. February hardware sales for the North American market were as follows:

1. Nintendo DS - 587,600
2. Wii - 432,000
3. PlayStation 2 - 351,800
4. PlayStation 3 - 280,800
5. Xbox 360 - 254,600
6. PSP - 243,100

I'm not sure if this beats Halo, but I think America plays Halo more. XBox doesn't do so well in Japan. Plus, everybody has access to a XBox, not everyone has access to a Wii because they keep getting sold out. That would be the only reason Halo outsold Brawl.

But anyways, Nintendo is on top, and its going to take a lot of work for those other consoles to catch up.

Same here, I don't think that's possible even if I don't have the slightest doubt that the PS3 is, in fact, as good a console as any of that list.

The PS3 only outsold the 360 in February because Microsoft couldn't meet the demand. March will be back to normal with the 360 outselling the PS3. And with GTA IV coming out in April, the 360 will dominate because of the DLC for it.

To add to the fire even though the topic is closed: No, Brawl didn't pass Halo 3's initial sales. Halo 3 had more preorders than Brawl sold in its first week.
