:falcomelee: Going to my first melee tourney tomorrow morning and I want to know if there is anything I should especially practice besides tech and combos on lvl 1s? What do you use to prepare for a tournament? I have been playing melee for a month now.

Don't bother staying up late practicing. At this point you aren't going to improve drastically between now and the tournament, so its much better to just get a good night's sleep.

Other than that I'd just do whatever your normal routine is, minus trying to learn new tech or whatever.

A nice thing to practice is patience. Turn on handicaps, set yours to 1 and set the CPU to a lvl 9 Marth with 9 handicap, and go to FD. Practice baiting out moves from Marth and punishing. As most characters I'd recommend trying for grabs, but for Falco practice placing moves that you normally can follow up with (you wont be able to combo as you practice as there are handicaps). This is great for internalizing good approach habits, and positioning in neutral.

Beyond that, get plenty of sleep and try to stay well nourished.

I don't know about falco, but I find when I practise tech like waveshining for for than an hour or two, my hands are pretty stiff the next day.
