newer looking to main

I'm newer to smash, I've poked at it during parties and hanging out with friends, but i just got a 3ds. I want to get good at it, but I haven't played many fighting games before. I want to mainly play sheik, greninja (I always play ninjas\rogues) and corrin. Any good advice for newer players or specific to those character would be appericiated. Including how and what attack to combo, the playstyle they should be played in. Thanks for your time and input. I'm tired of getting destroyed at friends houses.
